Gas Standards and Safety strives to provide leadership and effective regulation in respect to gas infrastructure, downstream installation safety and technical standards. We achieve this by ensuring that the gas industry aims for levels of excellence in construction, operations, reliable supply, acceptable public safety and energy efficiency.
How this is achieved is detailed further in the annual report of the Director of Gas Safety. The report describes the operations of the Director’s office for the previous financial year as required by Section 16 of the Gas Act 2000.
