Content and Duration

This is a 4-hour course that includes the following:

  1. Compliance requirements of the Building Act 2016 and PCA 2022
  2. Interpretation of the DTS solution AS/NZS 3500.2:2021, including:
    1. Branch drain junction connection angles (learn what the Standard actually says)
    2. Drain installation and flexibility requirements in Class M, H and E soils (as per AS 2870:2011 and App G within AS/NZS 3500.2:2021)
    3. Review of IO provision and fixture connection options to gullies
    4. Specific connection requirements including baths with concealed traps, commercial fixtures, urinals, clothes washing machine standpipes, etc.
    5. Vent fixture unit loading and application of vent rating system

Pre-Requisites

Open to all building designers and plumbers with a current ‘Practitioner’ or ‘Certifier’ license

Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded Statements of Attendance documenting the number of CPD points earned. (This course is not a substitute for Cert IV license units)
