Learn to apply structural principles using conventional methods of the erection and demolition of low rise residential structures and low rise projects.
This training addresses structures classified by the BCA as Classes 1 and 10, as well as Classes 2 to 9 with a gross floor area not exceeding 2000 square metres but not including Type A and Type B construction.
You will learn how to:
- apply structural principles when planning the erection or demolition of a structure
- analyse and plan for the structural integrity of Class1–10 buildings
- plan, coordinate and manage the:
- laying of footings and floor systems
- building of structural and non-structural wall systems
- building structural wall cladding systems
- building of a roof system
- building of structural roof and roof cladding systems
- external wall cladding of a structure.
On successful completion of this short course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the Nationally Recognised units:
- CPCCBC4010B Apply structural principles to residential low-rise constructions
- CPCCBC4011B Apply structural principles to commercial low-rise constructions
You can use the Statement of Attainment as credit towards gaining a range of nationally recognised qualifications including the following, which are offered by HIA:
- CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
- CPC40508 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Management)
- CPC40308 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Estimating)
